recent pins – my overambitious craft life

My home office is overflowing with things that I’d like to do “when I have time”. The truth is, I have so many crafting supplies that I don’t think I could use them all if I retired tomorrow and set to work on that full time (what a dream THAT would be). I have bins of yarn stash, binders of patterns, three projects currently on the needles, a bin of projects that are already in project bags and ready to start, a Ravelry queue full of projects, and a daughter who texts me weekly from college, “You know what would be great for a day like today…a bug scarf” as I knit madly on her scarf to hopefully finish before the snow flies. I have a utility cart full of beads and charms and jewelry making supplies, another utility cart full of embroidery threads and cross-stitch hoops and I just ordered a DMC mending patch loom with the thought of all the ‘mend and make do’ projects I can tackle in my house.

I don’t need to be looking at more ideas on Pinterest, but here we are.

I bought several patterns to learn how to make beaded charms…and some weekend, I’m going to devote myself to that project so I can make things like this!

or this.

And oh, how embroidery has captured my imagination. I bought a book and have been doing a cotton tote bag with a bunch of small motifs, like this example.

My board is full of motif ideas like this.

And this.

And this!

And once I go down the embroidery rabbit hole, projects like this come up…

And this.

And this.

I can’t wait to get my mending loom to start patching EVERYTHING.

Yep.

Life is too short for all of the projects I’d like to do!
