Happy last days of summer. I know that in reality, there is over a month of calendar summer left, and in these days of climate change, September is as hot as July. But I will always move with the calendar of childhood and August is the last of summer, before school starts. August is a month of county fairs, shopping for new backpacks and fresh notebooks, good corn and tomatoes and peaches, cicadas in the dusty colored trees and finches stripping the coneflowers, and, in our family, birthdays. I haven’t been on top of my Pinterest this summer so my “pins of the week” board is quite backlogged and this is really more like a pins of the month. Take what you want, leave what you don’t, and wherever you are I hope you are enjoying the season.
